Rising prices in China

Prices of raw materials and steel products rose, except for cast iron and stainless steel.

The last week of June saw an increase in the main steel products on the Chinese market, except for cast iron, whose price remained stable at USD 405 per tonne.

In more detail:

  • Cold-rolled coils 0.5-1.0 mm +2.40% (from 613.09 to 627.79 dollars per tonne)
  • Cold-rolled coils 3.00-4.75 mm +2.33% (from 527.20 to 590.66 dollars per tonne)
  • Hot-rolled coils 3.00 mm +3.60% (from 517.72 to 536.36 dollars per tonne)
  • Hot-rolled coils 4.75 mm +3.69% (from 508.34 to 527.12 dollars per tonne)

The long products:

  • Billets +2.49% (from 480.51 to 492.49 dollars per tonne)
  • HRB rebar 20 mm +0.52% (from 551.56 to 554.41 dollars per tonne)
  • Wire rod +0.63% (from 548.63 to 552.07 dollars per tonne)
  • Stainless steel sheet 304/2B 2mm -2.99% (from 2,029.86 to 1,969.21 dollars per tonne)
  • Stainless steel plates 304/14 5mm -0.19% (from 2,011.54 to 2,007.66 dollars per tonne)

The fine ore price increased by 3.59% (from 58.74 to 60.85 dollars per tonne) while the crude ore price increased by 1.83% (from 88.34 to 89.96 dollars per tonne).

The scrap quotation was up 2.34% (from 203.34 to 208.09 dollars per tonne).
