Chinese market prices still rising

Prices still rising in the Chinese market, the trend stays unchanged.

In the first seven days of September, the quotations of raw materials and main steel products confirmed the upward trend of the previous months and more specifically compared to the same period of the previous month, here are some quotations of reference.

  • cast iron +14.46%, from 433.70 to 496.42 dollars per tonne
  • cold-rolled coils 0.5-1.0 mm +11.54% from 706.24 to 787.77 dollars per tonne
  • cold-rolled coils 3.00-4.75 mm +12.24% from 662.08 to 743.09 dollars per tonne
  • hot-rolled coils 3.00 mm + 14.69% from 589.22 to 675.76 dollars per tonne
  • hot-rolled coils 4.75 mm +15.08% from 579.86 to 667.28 dollars per tonne

Other quotations for the long products:

  • billets +14.30% from 532.58 to 608.74 dollars per tonne
  • HRB rebar 20 mm +10.92% from 596.06 to 661.12 dollars per tonne
  • wire rod +14.29% 608.11 to 695.02 dollars per tonne

Stainless steel prices:

  • stainless steel sheet 304/2B 2 mm +20.45% from 2,236.76 to 2,694.25 dollars per tonne
  • stainless steel plates 304/14 5 mm +17.84% from 2,215.35 to 2,610.58 dollars per tonne

The quotation for fine ore +7.26% from 75.94 to 81.45 dollars per tonne while that for crude ore +6.61% from 102.32 to 109.08 dollars per tonne.

We end with the scrap data which saw a 7.74% increase from 220.51 to 237.58 dollars per tonne.
